John is a trial lawyer and much more. He has tried employment cases before juries, judges and arbitrators, and he is one of a handful of lawyers who has tried and arbitrated wage and hour class actions to verdict. He has litigated hundreds of employment lawsuits alleging wrongful termination, employment discrimination, sexual and other forms of harassment, wage and hour violations, retaliation, defamation and related torts.
John is now 100% dedicated to representing employees and vindicating their rights. However, over his lengthy career, John has extensive experience representing both employees and employers. Due to his years of representing and advising employers, John knows exactly how they think and understands the strategies they use to avoid responsibility for violating employees’ rights. John will put that experience to work for you.
John is also a teacher. He has been a labor law professor, and lectured extensively to human resources professionals regarding employment law compliance and best practices. As any good teacher, John believes knowledge and constant learning is the key to leading a happy and fulfilling life, and to overcoming any challenges in life, like the loss of a job or unfair treatment at work. John has authored a book—Risky Business: A California Employee’s Survival Guide—as well as numerous articles to educate employees.
John is a husband and father. John and Elizabeth have been happily married since 1990. They are the proud parents of five beautiful children. They have celebrated two weddings and have been blessed with a wonderful son-in- law and daughter-in- law. They are anxiously looking forward to being grandparents. They love riding the roller coaster of life together and with their kids, and just like you, they have had plenty of ups and downs along the way. They have a deep understanding of the importance of nurturing their children and providing for their family, and they have tremendous empathy for those whose lives have been turned upside down due to the theft of wages, loss of employment or unfair treatment at work.
